Due to the very cold weather, the ABA session for Sunday January 4th is cancelled.
We got our warmer weather to run the race on December 3rd, but lost a few athletes that were not able to attend. It was still a good race with very fast times. Good job everyone. See results below...
Please be aware that the ABA Cup race this weekend has been postponed due to the weather. We are looking at weather in the -20's and we had the race starting at the same time as the big game.... Grey Cup (Go Stamps!).
The official training will now be on Tuesday evening with the race on Wednesday. Times can be found in the ABA calendar.
Congratulations to all of our Alberta athletes that competed in our National Championships this past weekend. This race was the first of two selection races in order to be named to our Alberta Team. The second race goes Thursday November 6th. We have athletes from all across our great province, vying for a position. Our team will be names on Friday November 7th.
We will be holding the Alberta Bobsleigh AGM on September 20th, directly following the push competition. The time will be at approximately 4pm in the Ice House. Please plan on attending.
ABA is hosting its annual push competition on September 20th from 2 - 4pm. Come out and join the fun. Competitions will be 2man for men and women, 4man and the popular mixed 2man. Entry fee is $25. You will receive a t-shirt and prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd for each category. Registration will be at 1:30pm.

Justin Wilkinson will be your coach for these sessions. The first session for all athletes is free. After that, there is either a $20 drop in fee, or $150 will cover you for the whole summer until mid October.

The last week of January, Alberta Bobsleigh Association will be hosting the FIBT Para Bobsleigh Training Week. This training week will feature athletes with disabilities from Great Britain, USA and Canada. A second training week will take place in Igls, Austria in February, where many more European teams will join in.
At the Calgary event, we will have three Canadian coaches, teaching athletes the skills of piloting a bobsleigh down the track in a modified 2man bobsleigh.
